…and dies. Just joking. He didn’t die, but it would not be very surprising.

Joey Chestnut, the number one in Major League Eating , gobbled down 413 Hooters chicken wings in 12 hours at the Mall of Georgia, according to a news release.

He celebrated National Chicken Wing Day by taking maximum advantage of Hooters’ $15.99 all-you-can-eat special. He started at 11 a.m. Monday and ate 250 by 5:50 p.m. to get a T-shirt, but he was still hungry so he continued to eat in his new T-shirt for several more hours.

Chestnut, known as “Joey Jaws,” won his 12th Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest (the video is worth watching just for the spectacular intro) on July 4th and is the Nathan’s record holder with 74 dogs (plus buns) consumed in 10 minutes. Chestnut is also known for taking his preparation very seriously, performing mouth exercises that include weights.

Everybody needs a hobby and it is very important to pick the one that is right for you. A few people in England have decided that eating stinging nettles is the hobby that best suits their personality.

The annual World Stinging Nettle Championships took place at the Bottle Inn pub in the village of Marshwood, England. Contestants are served 2-foot long stinging nettle stalks – then pluck and eat as many leaves as possible in an hour

Tony Jeyes took the title in the men’s category by gobbling down the leaves from 29, 2ft long stems of nettles. Retired school teacher Lindy Rogers, 67, won the women’s category by getting through 46ft of nettles. Her technique of dipping the plants into her cider proved decisive.

She said: “I had a nice glass of pear and apple cider which I dunked the rolled up leaves into to make them more moist and easier to go down. I am thrilled to have won. My tongue is black today but I feel fine.”
