A suspected rhino poacher in South Africa was killed by an elephant before his body was apparently devoured by lions, authorities said.
Police reported that a group of men went into Kruger National Park in South Africa to hunt rhino. Police officer Leonard Hlathi said that “suddenly an elephant attacked and killed one of them. His accomplices claimed to have carried his body to the road so that passersby could find it in the morning. They then vanished from the park.”
On April 1st the family of the unlucky poacher later reported to the police what happened and a search for the missing man started. On April 4th they discovered his remains in Kruger Park. The general manager of communications for the park said: “Indications found at the scene suggested that a pride of lions had devoured the remains leaving only a human skull and a pair of pants.” What about his socks? Did the lions eat the socks?
