A Utah County woman was arrested after falsely reporting that her husband killed her.

Police received a 911 call from a woman saying that a man told her he shot his wife. The woman was allegedly the mistress of the husband, and when the wife found this out she took his phone and left. She then texted the mistress pretending to be him, and told her he shot his wife, wondering how the woman would react. She reacted in a very predictable manner and called the police, of course.

Several officers arrived at the home within minutes and when the alleged murderer walked up to them things got a little bit confusing, but he eventually managed to explain the bizarre sequence of events and convince the police there is nothing wrong with his wife. Except maybe her mental health, but that is not a matter for the police.

The wife was arrested and charged with investigation of criminal mischief and making a false police report involving death. The couple has only been married for 10 months.

Authorities say a Florida man impersonating an officer turned on the red and blue lights on his car and unknowingly tried to stop a car with a real officer.

Matthew Erris, 26, was arrested on a charge of impersonating a public officer.

The arrest report says Erris turned on the red and blue lights on his SUV in Plant City, Florida, to try to stop the car in front of him.

The driver was an undercover Hillsborough County sheriff’s detective in an unmarked car. He didn’t pull over. Instead, he called dispatchers to alert other deputies, who later stopped Erris. It is not known why Erris tried to stop the car, but he did admit using the lights to get through heavy traffic.

Undercover police officers from Detroit’s 12th district posing as drug dealers arrested undercover officers from the 11th who were posing as drug buyers. Or was it the other way around?

“This is probably one of the most embarrassing things I’ve seen in this department since I’ve been appointed police chief,” James Craig told reporters. “In fact, I’d have to tell you it is probably one of the most disappointing things I’ve experienced in my entire 40-year career.”

During the botched operation, 12th precinct officers, who were posing as drug dealers, were held at gunpoint by police from the 11th precinct. “I am thankful that no one was more seriously injured,” Craig said.

The entire incident, which happened in 2017, was captured on body cameras, which shows both sets of officers fighting and punching each other.

A man from Pennsylvania, Daniel Sober, 44, was arrested Saturday evening for drunk driving following a police stop near his home in Lower Burrell, a Pittsburgh suburb.

A breath test, police say, recorded Sober’s blood alcohol content at .194, more than twice the legal limit. Court documents said he told officers he had just dropped off his girlfriend so she could check on her son.

Sober, was charged with drunk and careless driving, according to court records. After being arrested, Sober was released on his own recognizance. He is next scheduled to appear in court on March 20.
